This little kitchen is great! These people can make a breakfast sandwich! The french toast was delicious too!Great experience right down to the coffee. Wanted to go back but didn't make it, we were only in town for the day.

My family and I came here for Mother's Day weekend. That Saturday was my fiance birthday as well. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, we received great service. The food was great to say the least but the added bonus was the staff's hospitality: they are just heartwarming people. They, of course, didn't know but they made my fiance day. He is biological not the father of my children and the entirety of our time there, the ladies referred to him as "Dad" every time they came to the table to make sure we had everything we needed and simply having small talks with us. Ladies, you gave him the biggest gift he could have received and that was acknowledging that we are in fact a family. My ONLY issue that I have is with this establishment, you guys need a bigger builder, but then again it's probably what brings the charm to this adorable place. We were happy to have waited for our table. Thank you!

I was chilling at my hotel, at which point, I got hungry for breakfast. My partner found this joint nearby and it looked to get great reviews so I decided to walk over. Came at around 9:15 AM on a Saturday and they weren’t too busy and had tables available. The layout of the joint threw me off at first as it looks like they are counter serve. But they actually do table service! My waitress was nice and attentive to my table. I got the Chicken & Waffles sandwich with a side of bacon as my meal. I was overall blown away! The waffles were toasted perfectly, the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the bacon was crispy. Overall, Scratch Kitchen, a fantastic sandwich shop in Newport! If I’m back in town, I’ll easily come back!

Jaw dropping, mouth watering food. I got the regular biscuits and gravy. Service was great and responsive. For was unique, savory, fresh and hot. The fresh food was worth a small wait. The indoor dining space is limited. I'd take it to go if I had to it's so good.

Sorry for the bad photos but these grilled sandwiches are the best. EVERYTHING, including the corned beef is made from scratch. Also, without a doubt one of the most affordable eateries in Newport! Great Quality, Great Pricing! This is NOT fast food, but it is really GOOD food!

I have a bachelors in culinary arts. Steak and cheese is my favorite sandwich of all time. I ordered it here and can tell you I can name 3 of other places where a steak and cheese can come even remotely close to this. Real seasoned chunks of shredded roast or chuck steak, fresh bread, perfectly toasted with melted cheese on sourdough. I could slowly eat this over an hour and not get sick of that experience. I spaced out for 5 whole minutes after eating it. It was nothing short of spectacular. 11 bucks?!?!! This was beyond evil how tasty this was. I wish I lived closer. I put this down in my special list. God help me you gotta try this.

Wow, I'm a local and stopped in and grabbed a lunch special which came w fresh curried carrot soup, half a grilled cheese and some spud nuggets. Also a cookie and a drink! The staff are super fun and friendly and they have a great menu for breakfast and lunch. Salads, wraps, sides, fresh cookies too. Great little spot on Broadway!

This is a small place with a few tables and outrageously delicious food! Every member of my family got something different to eat and everyone was thrilled with their meal. The bread on the grilled cheeses was grilled to perfection and the Mac and cheese was a cheesy gooey delight. Plus the staff was really friendly and laid back. I want to go back to try their award winning chili next time we are visiting Newport.
